Our fly time  is over, but stay tuned to this
site for more flying to come!
We do not have a scheduled rig for 2011.

Registration:
For updates, please email classes@ashevilleaerialarts.com. We will add you
to the update list, and keep you posted with scheduling.  To book a private
group, you will need to pre-register for your time slot.  Individuals will be
placed in classes with others, so if you want to bring several friends to fly with
you, register in advance to prevent the class being too full to accommodate
your entire group.

Description:
Come bring your friends, family, co-workers, and teammates for a lesson on
the flying trapeze.  Maximum class capacity is 20 people, so book your group
early, as space is limited.  You will be given instructions on the ground.  Your
instructors will review safety information and what actions will be completed in
the air.  A safety belt will be placed around your waist, and you will be clipped
in to a safety line.  Your ground coach will have you climb the ladder to join
your board coach on the pedestal board.  Your board coach will clip you into
the fly lines, hold your belt, and have you reach out and grab the trapeze bar,
one hand at a time.  Once the safety line operator yells "Hep" , you will hop
off the board and swing out.  You will follow instructions to complete a basic
trick, such as a Knee Hang.  You will dismount by listening to your line
operator call "Kick forward, back, forward, and let go", and upon completion
of the kicks, you will do a back somersault and land in a sitting position on the
net.  All the while your heart will be pounding, adrenaline will be surging, you
will be high from the experience, and your friends and family will all be
cheering for you.  Then, you'll come to the edge of the net, and step down, all
while in safety lines.  After you have completed this successfully at least once,
your catcher will go up to the catcher's bar.  You will follow instructions to
complete your very first catch, and attempt to return to the bar.  The feeling
of releasing from the bar and into the catcher's arms will be one of the most
exhilarating moments of your life.  The conquering of fear is one of the
powerful accomplishments a person can ascertain.  Not only will you be proud
of your accomplishment, you will be more confident in other aspects of your
life, learn to trust and work as a team, and build the self-esteem necessary to
tackle other obstacles in your life.

What to bring:
Please be sure to wear socks or gymnastics slippers for your class.  Street
shoes and bare feet are not allowed under any circumstance.  You will also
want to bring a folding chair, or blanket to sit on, as well as water.  You will be
signing a release form to certify that you are not under the influence of drugs
or alcohol.  Keep in mind this is an event for all ages, so appropriate clothing
should be worn.  We recommend clothing that allows you to move freely, and
has no sharp objects attached.  Spring weather can change rapidly, so be
sure to bring layers.  You will want to make sure your clothes are dry, so
parents bring a change of clothes for any youngsters that may be tempted to
get in the creek located on property.  Rings and bracelets should also be
removed for your comfort and safety, as well as that of your catcher.  You are
welcome to bring video/camera equipment.  We recommend that long hair be
pulled back away from your face.  Glasses will need to be secured properly.
